In The Spotlight:
Actors, Poets, & Playwrights

This unique event, produced by Karrie Szatek of The Shepherd Center for the Performing Arts, will showcase original literary and dramatic creative work by multi-talented writers from Fairhaven and surrounding areas!
Among those presenting pieces that will focus on real-life matters will be New Bedford’s poet laureate; a short film artist; poetry slam champions; an author of short stories, a novel, and nationwide-produced short plays; an internationally known poet; published scholars and professors; a NYC-trained actor and one of his short plays; and both a playwright of Tulsa ’21: Black Wall Street and an award-winning director. Artists are listed below!
In association with The Shepherd Center, the Marion Arts Center Reader’s Theater actors will interpret and read classical to contemporary short works by native American authors.
The entire program will end with a question-and-answer period where audience members will inquire about the process of writing literature and/or performing it!
