About the Artists

Grace Morrison

In addition to being an award-winning singer-songwriter writing in a genre that she created called Saltwater Country, Grace is a pianist, guitarist, and an accordion player living in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Her career started in high school playing at coffee shops, where she sang for tips. Not long after, she hit the road with Rock 4 Xmas, sharing the stage with legends like Eddie Money, Joey Molland (Badfinger), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, writer of Da Ya Think I’m Sexy), and Greg Douglass (Steve Miller Band, co-writer of Jungle Love).

Grace has been making regular trips to Nashville to co-write with various songwriters. One of the memorable collaborations was with hit songwriter Lori McKenna. Together, they wrote the song Just Loving You”, which Grace recorded on her record “Daughter”. Grace has performed at the Bluebird Café. She was awarded Official Showcases at SWRFA (the South Western Regional Folk Alliance) and NERFA (the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) in the Fall of 2022. She played at festivals in Florida, Texas, and Montana this past year and continues to make fans everywhere she goes.

Her latest album, due to be released in 2025 Saltwater Country, is produced by Jon Evans (Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan). The songs on the album range from the gritty, swampy Poor Man’s Daughter—a raw reflection on growing up with nothing—to the fun, twang-filled Beer in a Teacup, an anthem about embracing imperfections and letting self-doubt roll off your shoulders.

Her voice smacks of Jewel, and her style, cadence, and song structure is every inch from the school of Joan Osborne, Lisa Loeb, and Natalie Merchant. It’s uncanny.

Marc Douglas Berardo

Marc Douglas Berardo lives on the southwestern coastline of Rhode Island on a river that runs into the ocean. Berardo’s songs mine the deep feelings and lessons gleaned from real-life characters and situations. It’s his songs combined with an onstage presence that uses humor and deft storytelling to rally an audience and lead them into a deep and sometimes spiritual experience. It’s an adventure that brings to mind James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Guy Clark, or Steely Dan with a touch of Mark Twain or Hunter S. Thompson for good measure. After thirty years of bars, theaters, house concerts, and festivals as well as a boatload of song awards and national recognition, Berardo has established himself as the real deal. A lifer that No Depression Magazine called “sincere, fluid, charming and above all gripping.”.

Nationally recognized, he has won a Rammie Award for Best Show of The Year at Ramshead OnStage. Other notable venues include the renowned Bluebird Café in Nashville, The Town Crier Cafe, Narrows Center for the Arts, The Fairfield Performing Arts Center, Tupelo Music Hall, Cafe Lena, The Freight and Salvage, The Katherine Hepburn Theater, The Red Lodge Songwriter Festival, The Wildflower Art and Music Festival, Hard Rock Cafe, Anderson Fair (TX), Fiddler’s Dream, and St Anne’s Chapel in Vatican City, Italy. He has performed at many nationwide festivals as well.

Berardo opened for or shared a stage with heavyweights such as The Doobie Brothers, The Pousette-Dart Band, Jimmy Lafave, Martin Sexton, 10,000 Maniacs, Walt Wilkins, Red Molly, John Hiatt, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Buffalo Springfield, Kevin Welch, Lucy Kaplansky, David Olney, Kim Richey, Will Kimbrough, and Livingston Taylor.

Berardo’s new full-length record, “The Beauty of This Now,” was released on May 31, 2024. It was recorded in Austin, Texas, and produced by Texas legends Ron Flynt and Walt Wilkins.

Marc Douglas Berardo writes songs that are witty without being superficial, intelligent without being ponderous, fun without being silly. He performs them with an infectious verve. On top of that, he doesn't seem to have the slightest idea of just how good he is.

Walt Wilkins

A near-constant presence on the Texas Music Chart since its inception as a songwriter, producer, singer, guitar player, and artist, Walt Wilkins spent a solid decade in the Nashville Country Music business trenches, writing songs he wanted to be recorded by artists he admired. There are indeed some noteworthy cuts: “Seven Hillsides,” by Ricky Skaggs, on a record that won a bluegrass-gospel Grammy. Ty Herndon, during his heyday, made “Big Hopes” the title of his 3rd album for Sony, and there have been roughly a dozen other songs on major-label records. But it was Pat Green’s recordings of several songs, including “Ruby’s Two Sad Daughters”, that made Wilkins’ name known near-constant. A version of “Trains I Missed” by Balsam Range has been nominated as the song of the year by the International Bluegrass Association. Wilkins also earned a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame in Corpus Christi.

Wilkins’ songs have been recorded by over 100 artists, including Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Brandon Ryder, and Tommy Alverson. He also has had cuts recorded by Kimmie Rhodes (“Espiritu Santo Bay”), Kenny Rogers (“Someone Somewhere Tonight”), Ricky Skaggs (“Seven Hillsides”), and Ty Herndon (“Big Hopes”).

Wilkins’ work has been likened to the greatest and most timeless of the Texas/American troubadours: Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Kevin Welch, among others. But the John Steinbeck comparison in the review of “Fire, Honey & Angels made him stand out as a truly great lyrical artist.

His latest record, “Through The Stars,” was released on 2/28.

He “Walt” might be one of the most under-appreciated of the modern Texas country scene’s founding fathers, having been best known as the writer or co-writer for many of Pat Green’s best-loved songs, including “Songs About Texas,” “Carry On,” and “Poetry”.
